A thesis or a research project
Hours a week on the thesis, a finish date forecast from your own pace, and papers turned into courses.
Thesis · 3 h 20 of 10–14 h this week
Time tracker · Day planner · Goals
Track your time with one tap, plan your days in blocks, and keep goals built on your real pace.
Who it’s for
The thesis that takes a year. The instrument you practice most evenings. The field you want to really understand. Improved is for work you choose yourself, where nobody else keeps the hours, the plan or the score.

Practice blocks on the days you choose, a streak that allows rest days, and a rating of your energy as you go.

Ask for a course at the depth you want. The tutor plans it from what you already know and brings each idea back before it slips.

Not the right tool for client invoices, team timesheets or automatic tracking of your screen. Improved is personal, and you choose what you track.
Plan
Hold and drag on the timeline to draw a block for a task, a project or just a label, once or on the weekdays you choose. Your Google Calendar shows beside it as busy time. Today’s plan on Home has a play button for whatever the plan says now. Track half a block’s time and it counts as kept.

3 of 4
How much of your planned time went where you planned it. A day with nothing planned has no score, not a zero.
Improved began as a better way to look at tracked time, and the charts are still at its heart. Home is yours to arrange: the running task, today as a strip of hours, a week as a donut, streaks, a year as a heatmap. Tap any card for the full picture.
A day, a week or a month as a donut, then a list by project or task.
Stacked bars from a week to years. Show a goal on them and each day takes the color of where it landed.
Every day as a square, with active days, the longest streak and hours by month and weekday.

Track
Tap a task to start it. Its timer runs at once, and starting one stops the one before, so your phone, your widgets and your other devices always show the same thing running.
You can also start it from a home screen widget, the notification, Quick Settings or the app icon, on Android.

A task can track a rating, a measurement or an event. Rate your energy, log your weight, note a headache. Its screen charts it over time, and you can draw it over your hours.
Log it with the + on its row.

Goals
A slow week moves the finish date. Nothing turns red, and only a limit ever warns. Four kinds, because each fails differently. Each counts any mix of projects, folders and tasks, and carries an “if it slips” plan you write in advance.
Outcome
Something you finish, in milestones. The finish date is forecast from your own pace, so you see a date move instead of a page go red.

Learn
Ask for a subject, the depth you want and the minutes a day you have. Your tutor finds out what you already know, plans a course with sources it picked, and teaches it in short lessons you work through, not read through. Reviews bring each idea back just before you’d forget it. Study time is tracked on a task, and starting a course can add a study goal and study blocks to your plan.
Try one, the way a lesson asks it
You have 30 minutes to learn a list of terms for an exam a month from now. Which leaves you remembering more on exam day?
Pick one. Answering first, even wrongly, is the point.
B. Three 10-minute sessions, a few days apart. The same practice spread over days beats piling it into one sitting, and recalling from memory beats rereading. Improved’s reviews do the spreading for you.
Rohrer & Taylor 2006; Dunlosky et al. 2013.
Each concept goes through the same short loop, and each step is there because learning research supports it. No points or badges: the interest comes from the idea.
Warm-up
Last time: what does the predict step do to the uncertainty P?
Right. Predicting moves the estimate forward and adds Q, so P grows until a measurement comes in.
ContinueThe guess
Which matters more for the gain K: the measurement noise R or the prediction’s uncertainty P?
Both, as a ratio. K weighs P against R. The rest of this lesson shows why.
See whyThe idea
The update blends two guesses.
Each guess is a Gaussian. Multiply them and the result is narrower than both, pulled toward the more certain one.
Your turn
Finish the predict step.
x̂⁻ = F x̂ + B u
The rule: predicting adds the uncertainty of the motion itself.
A deeper question
Why does a larger R make the filter trust its prediction more?
Recall
From memory: the update of the estimate.
Saved for review. Two cards from this lesson come back in your reviews, spaced by FSRS.

Your own AI
Use the AI you already trust. Claude, Cursor or your own agent can read and change your data with access you can revoke. Run OpenClaw on your computer, and it talks to you in the app and becomes your tutor. Improved runs no model of its own.
Your agent sees your hours, your plan and your goals, and can change almost anything. Deletes can be restored, and a set of changes can come as suggestions you review first.
Level 1
Everything to track, see, plan and keep goals, with Google Calendar and WHOOP.
What you needThe app, in early access on Android.
Level 2
Claude, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP apps
Your AI looks anything up, plans your week, logs time and answers where last month went. It can change things directly, as you can, or send a set of changes for you to review in the app.
What you needAn AI app that connects to MCP servers, such as Claude (web, desktop or Claude Code), Cursor or VS Code, and a token from Settings → Integrations → MCP access.
Level 3
OpenClaw, the AI assistant you run on your own computer
Early access · OpenClaw usersA chat with your agent inside Improved, and the Learn tutor: courses, lessons, grading and reviews. Scheduled messages, and files both ways.
What you needOpenClaw on your computer, and Improved’s small bridge running beside it. For people comfortable with a terminal.
In the app
Early accessYou’re at 3 h 20 of your 10 to 14 hours on the thesis, with the week still ahead. I put three mornings on chapter 3, two short evenings on figures and Saturday morning on papers, around Wednesday’s seminar.

Changes you review
A set of changes arrives as suggestions. Keep some or all, apply them, undo them.
Nothing lost
Deletes are soft and can be restored. Deleting more than one thing asks first.
Access you can take back
Tokens are shown once, stored only as hashes, and revoked in Settings.
Your computer stays yours
Improved keeps only the names of the tools your agent ran, never what went in or came out, unless you ask for more detail.
Nothing hidden
You see each step as it runs. Turn on detailed steps to see what each one did.
Your data
Improved is a personal tool. What you enter lives in your account and on your devices, and you decide which AI gets near it.

I started Improved in 2020. The best time tracker I could find wouldn’t let me analyze my time the way I wanted, and I like to plot and dig into my data, so I built my own. It grew into goals, then learning, and now your own AI. Improved is independent: there are no investors behind it.
Your data is never sold.
In your account, on your devices
Everything you enter is stored under your account in Google’s Cloud Firestore, and in a local database on each device, so it works offline.
Undo instead of regret
Deletes are soft and can be undone. Deleting a project tells you first how much goes with it.
AI access you grant, and take back
MCP tokens are made in Settings, shown once, stored only as hashes and revoked with a tap.
Your computer stays yours
The assistant runs on your own computer. Improved keeps your messages and the names of the tools your agent ran, never what went in or came out. Turn on detailed steps and it also keeps a one-line summary of each, with secrets removed.
Calendar and WHOOP, only if you connect them
Google Calendar gets one event per session, in the calendar you choose; your busy time is read to show it and never stored. WHOOP shares your sleep. Their sign-ins stay on the server.
Leave any time
Delete your account in Settings, or ask by email without the app. It goes for good, with all your data and files, your feedback screenshots, your WHOOP and Google Calendar connections (we revoke our access) and your personal access tokens. Events already in your Google Calendar stay there; they’re yours.

Questions
Yes, in early access on Android. Ask for early access with the Google account on your phone, and you’ll get an invitation to the test on Google Play. Improved opens to everyone there once it’s ready.
Early access is free. When Improved opens on Google Play it will have a subscription, and its price will be on this page before anyone pays anything. Improved runs no AI of its own, so there’s no AI bill to pass on; your own AI runs on your own account.
Not yet. Improved is on Android. Tell me when it is.
No. Tracking, charts, the plan, goals, Google Calendar and WHOOP all work on their own. The in-app chat and the Learn tutor need your own agent, and are in early access.
Claude (on the web, in the desktop app or in Claude Code), Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other apps that connect to MCP servers can use your data, with a token you make in Settings. The in-app chat and the tutor work with OpenClaw, an AI assistant you run on your own computer, through Improved’s bridge. How to connect each app: Connect your AI.
Because your own agent already knows your notes, your files and how you work, and you choose its model. Improved carries the messages; it never runs a model of its own.
With your token, what you can in the app. Deletes are soft and can be restored, deleting more than one thing asks first, and a set of changes can come as suggestions you review. Revoke the token in Settings at any time.
Yes. Every change lands on your device first and syncs when you’re back online.
No. You start and stop what you track. Nothing watches your screen.
No. Improved is personal: no invoices, no teams, no sharing.
